The Digital Software and Video Games Team runs a premium content delivery network. We have one of the largest selections of downloadable software and video game products on the web.
The Digital Software and Video Games Application Engineer team will provide tier 2/3 production support for the Amazon digital downloads ecosystem.
The Application Engineer is also responsible for providing multi-faceted services to the development teams, and working with the Operations teams for software product release co-ordination.
The Application Engineer will work with the rest of the digital software and video games engineering team to troubleshoot customer-facing software issues.
Your ability to learn quickly and work on disparate and overlapping tasks will define your success.
Some of the key job functions of the Application Engineer are :
• Provide error management and monitoring of the encoding/ingestion fleet.
• Work on operations and maintenance driven coding projects, primarily in Perl or shell scripts, web technologies, with the potential for Java based projects.
• Software deployment support in staging and production environments.
• Develop tools to aid operations and maintenance.
• System and Support status reporting. Customer notification and workflow co-ordination and follow-up to maintain service level agreements.
• Work with engineering team for handing-off or taking over active support issues and to create a team specific knowledge base and skill set.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues in complex Enterprise Level applications.
• Demonstrated skill and passion for problem solving and operational excellence.
• Communicates clearly and effectively with customers and shows excellent written documents that are easily understood by others.
