Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, SMVDU, Technical University of J&K set up on the pattern of IITs. The University has established 10 Academic Schools to impart UG, PG and Ph. D. Level education. Applications are invited for faculty positions at the following faculty posts :

1. Professor:
Age Limit : As per UGC.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 37400 to 67000 with Grade Pay Rs. 10000/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Ph.D degree with first class at Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering (Eng.) and Technology (Tech.) and experience of 10 years in teaching, Research and/or Industry at the level of Reader/Associate Professor or equivalent grade, excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degree.

2. Associate Professor:
Age Limit : As per UGC.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 37400 to 67000 with Grade Pay Rs. 9000/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Ph.D degree with first class at Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering (Eng.) and Technology (Tech.) and experience of 5 years in teaching, Research and/or Industry at the level of Lecturer/ Assistant Professor or equivalent grade, excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degree.

3. Assistant Professor :
Age Limit : As per UGC.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600 to 39100 grade pay Rs. 8000/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Master’s Degree with 55% marks in the appropriate branch of Engineering (Eng.) and Technology (Tech.) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based on Performance Based Appraisal system (PBAS) developed by UGC in these regulations.

4. Lecturer :
Age Limit : As per UGC.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600 to 39100 grade pay Rs. 6000/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : First Class Master’s Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering (Engg.) / Technology (Tech.) (No minimum experience required). OR First Class Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology or equivalent, valid GATE score, minimum 75 percentile; to complete M.Tech / ME within 5 years failing which the increments will be stopped until the postgraduate degree is earned. The institutions are to provide adequate opportunity to its teaching staff to complete this requirement.

Experience : Professor – at least 10 years out of which 5 years must be at the level of Associate Professor or equivalent., Associate Professor – at least 8 years out of which 5 years must be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent, Lecturer – In Engineering subjects M.Tec. den be considered for appointment.
